Your Rights

Generations of workers over the years have fought for the basic rights which we 'enjoy' today. It's the legal minimum which we should have and it's up to us to check to see whether we getting what we 'must' have. Don't rely on your employer to either know about or remember to give you these things. It's your responsibility to look after your job.

Having said that it's always safest to have the backing of a union when approaching an employer about even these barest minimum basic rights. You are not on your own then - you have the backing of the union!
